This is a security which has a medium or long term maturity, and which normally generates a yield for the investor through periodic payments (coupons) until its maturity date, when the amortization value of the bond and the final coupon are paid. Among Treasury Stocks, Government Bonds (Bonos as well as Obligaciones) have the following characteristics: Bonos are issued at periods of between 2 and 5 years and Obligaciones at periods longer than five years.
