About Tesoro Público

Tesoro Público is a department of the Ministry of Economy and Finance known administratively as the General Directorate of the Treasury and Financial Policy. It has its offices in Paseo del Prado number 6, Madrid.

Its functions include the management of the government cash position, the study and implementation of the central government borrowing programme, the formulation and issuing of legal provisions governing financial and credit institutions, securities markets and cross-border economic transactions, the coordination of monetary and financial policy matters through the European Union’s Economic and Financial Committee, research into preventing and combating breaches of the laws on capital movements and money laundering, and the analysis and monitoring of national and international financial markets.
